Quinta of Curubás, is located on the Regional Road of Ribeira Seca, 1km distant from Vila Franca do Campo and 25Km from the airport.
Vila Franca do Campo
Vila Franca do Campo was the first capital of the Island of S. Miguel, which was settled in 1444 and became the first village of the archipelago in 1472. This position finished when the night of October 21st, 1522 a violent earthquake provoked a landslide in the nearer hillsides of the village covering most of the town. Currently, Vila Franca do Campo is a Municipal Territory with an area of 78,00km² and 11,150 inhabitants (2001).
